Learn the key features of the 2008-2009 USPAP and re-familiarize
yourself with its Rules and Standard Rule.
|
This course is intended to aid appraisers seeking to maintain their
competency in the latest edition of the Uniform Standards of Professional
Appraisal Practice (USPAP). Competent performance of an assignment
by an appraiser in compliance with USPAP promotes and preserves public
trust in professional appraisal practice. An appraiser who properly
uses the Uniform Standards enhances his or her recognition as a
professional. |

Effective
January 1, 2003, licensed/certified real property appraisers
must successfully complete the one of the National USPAP Courses,
or their equivalent, once every two years. This course may be
taken to satisfy this requirement.
This course can be
completed each year for continuing education credit.
This continuing education course presumes appraisers have been introduced
to the Uniform Standards in other courses or through membership in
professional appraisal organizations. The 7-hour course focuses on
edits made to create the most recent version of USPAP. Changes
include elimination of the Supplemental Standards Rule; edits to
the Conduct section of the Ethics Rule; edits to the Comment of SR
2-3 (certification); elimination of Statement 10; elimination of
three Advisory Opinions; and retirement of Advisory Opinion 5. The 15-hour
course is an overview of the entire document, includes an exam, and is
essentially a prerequisite for the 7-hour course.
The National USPAP
